Nevada Math’s Executive Director is retiring in June 2024 and we’re looking for an experienced and innovative Executive Director to lead our team. The ideal candidate will have solid knowledge in the field of non-profit work and will be responsible for the main administrative functions of the organization, including staff recruitment and development, organizational planning, and research. The successful candidate will work closely with our staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors to continue the growth of our fast-growing non-profit.

Compensation:

$40,000+ DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, organization, and direction of operations and programs.
  • Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives, including grant writing and reporting.
  • Manage staff/volunteers and oversee the day-to-day operations, including recruiting and retention.
  • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage staff and oversee the day-to-day running of the Organization.
  • Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.
  • Represent the programs and point of view of the Organization to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
  • Be responsible for working with the Treasurer and Finance Committee in developing and maintaining sound financial practices, including budgeting, record keeping, and operating within budget.

Required for Consideration:

  • 2+ years of nonprofit organization experience
  • Personnel and/or project management experience
  • Sales and/or fundraising experience
  • MUST BE LOCATED IN RENO-SPARKS, NV AREA

Other:

In order to perform the essential functions of this position successfully, candidate must be professional, dependable, and able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.  This position is operations focused. The ideal Candidate will be passionate about developing the math, logic, and problem-solving skills in kids in grades 1-12.

The position will begin on a mutually agreed upon date in May or June 2024. The current Executive Director will be stepping down June 2, 2024 but will stay on through June 30, 2024 to provide a smooth transition.

Nevada Math is a non-profit located in Sparks, NV celebrating 10 years of providing math enrichment opportunities to kids in grades 1-12 in the Reno-Sparks area. Programs include contests, camps, Family Math Nights, and a competition team for students in grades 7-12. We are a volunteer intensive organization with an amazing and supportive community.
