Math Enjoyment

This club is all about fostering a positive relationship between students and math. This club defies the expectations of a traditional math club. By combining art, games, music, puzzles, and physical activities we help students recognize that math is more than just equations on a worksheet. We do this while developing their skillsets. This club is perfect for both kids who don’t typically enjoy math and those who do!

Class Details

Competition Math Class

Students who take this course will be introduced to problems that are commonly seen in various math competitions such as Number Theory and Combinatorics. We encourage joint participation in the MathRocks! contest series while participating in this class as each month we will go over the more challenging problems students encountered during the MathRocks! competition. Students will also have the opportunity to make friends with other participants so that they may see familiar faces on competition day

Competition Team Prep Classes

These classes are for students in grades 6-10. Competition Team Prep Classes prepare students with the fundamental skills they need to be a part of our Competition Team, as very few area schools provide this depth or type of instruction. These classes will move quickly and students are expected to be focused while in class, take notes, and complete homework on time.

Registration for all Level II classes requires approval by the instruction team. We are offering 2 topic-based classes each quarter. Classes include Geometry I & II, Number Theory I & II, Problem Solving I & II, and Counting and Probability I & II. Some classes may be offered more than once per year and others may not be offered every year. Students will be assigned approximately 1.5 hours of homework to be completed online each week.

Minimum of 4 students required to run and a maximum of 16 students per class.
